U.S. Blues Festivals

We just love the mix of African music, American folk music, and spirituals that blended together and made up the various genres of blues music. The blues, a uniquely American tradition that spring up at the end of the 19th century, spread from the Deep South and took the nation by storm. It flowed into the Caribbean and further-flung locations such as South America, Central America, Europe, Asia and beyond.

Are you a a blues festival attendee? Is it on your bucket list? We’d love to hear your first-hand account. Feel free to report back and be included as a guest blogger. You can contact us here.

Connect and Collaborate

We want to hear from you! Please contact us if you have information about a pioneering blues artist or a festival, please let us know and we’ll add it to our blues resources. Sunny Southern Productions endeavors to identify sources and work with families, the public, scholars and collectors to produce and share a treasure trove of blues. Of equal importance, we seek out and welcome interviews with families and friends of long departed original blues performers as witnesses to this legacy. Our goals is to produce publications and presentations that benefit all generations and broaden interest in original blues music.

Please email info@sunnysouthernproductions.com and become a part of the mission.
