Riverside Blues News: our blog is filled with information about the world of blues and provides glimpses into the stories of American blues vocalists, musicians and artists. We’ll also announce progress on our various projects, and add calls for submissions for new projects. If we run across new resources for blues festivals, blues radio, or blues education, we’ll post it here. By the way, the Riverside Blues News blog focuses on American music and turn-of-the-century authentic American musicians who played until the mid 1900s and beyond, and includes events from around the world as global citizens celebrate this unique art form. Indeed, the popularity of the blues transcends nationality, and we credit the blues singers who drew on the spirituals and plantation music, shaping it into various blues genres.

We also share updates on our three new blues book — the never-before-told stories of Eugene Powell, Mississippi Matilda, and their playing partners. These history-making books are proudly published by Sunny Southern Productions.

  • The Original Rolling Stone: The Travelin’ Riverside Blues of Eugene Powell
  • Hard Working Woman: The Life and Legend of Mississippi Matilda
  • America’s Unbeatable Musicians: The Original Masters of the Mississippi Riverside Blues
